Agricultural production
The agriturism uses and sells the products from its own agricultural enterprise and from other trusted neighboring businesses. Most of the agricultural products are those called “poor”, the ones that have been cultivated in the area for decades.
Barley
It’s a typical local culture, little productive and mainly cultivated as men’s food. In fact this type of barley differs from the commercial one, known as row barley, which is mainly used as animal feed. Also the grains look very similar to those of wheat.
This product has been widely used as a surrogate of coffe and it’s now served as a breakfast drink, or as toasted barley infusion, cereal soup, or as flour for pasta
Honey
It’s a typical local product obtained thanks to bees. This honey differs from others because it’s obtained from the pollen of the local cultures, such are sunflowers, alfalfa and acacia. It’s a great replacement for sugar.
Jam
On our land there are various different kinds of fruit, which in part are put to use as fresh fruit while the rest in made into marmalade, using the old fashioned techniques, handed down grandmothers.
Legumes
Cece and lentil are legumes with high nutrition values and are know in the area as the “meat of the poor”.
Wine
The agriturism produces, uses and sells these wines: Vernaccia Rossa, Vino Cotto and red and white table wines. Vino Cotto and Vernaccia Rossa are great paired with dry pasta or at the end of the meal.
Fresh vegetables
About 1000sm of land are cultivated with different vegetables to cover for the demands of the kitchen during the entire year and for the demand of the guests..
Quarantino Corn
It’s a kind of cereal widely used in the past as both men’s and animals’ food. It has recently been reintroduced in our production because it’s not OGM and it’s used in the area for corn flour, which is the main ingredient to make typical dishes like polenta with sausages and polentone.
Extra virgin olive oil
Oil obtained following thoroughly the production, extraction, conservation and bottling techniques. In our olive grove we have different kinds of olive trees, so the Oil we make it’s a Blend. The oil it’s yellow with green pigments, it has a fruity aroma, which remembers green tomato or artichoke, while it tastes bitter and spicy. There are indications of the quality of the extra virgin olive oil.
Cold Cuts
Cold cuts are obtained by treatments and transformations of the local pork meat and are produced by our company. The typical local products are: lard salami, sausages, loin, coppa, pork cheek and beacon.
